15 October 2018

8,000 workers for Glasgow City Council are set to strike together on Tuesday 23 and Wednesday 24 October to fight for fair pay for mostly women staff who are members of the Unison and GMB unions.

They mainly work in care, catering, cleaning, caretaking, administrative and educational support roles. Nearly 50 years after the Equal Pay Act why are workers still forced to fight for equal pay? Support the stikers by joining the Equal Pay march and rally, assembling 11.30am, on Tuesday 23 October, Glasgow Green and marching to George Square, which is called by the STUC.

Donations to the strike fund can be made as follows: Cheques can be made out to “Glasgow City UNISON” and sent to branch office, 84 Bell Street, Glasgow G1 1LQ OR directly by bank transfer to: UNITY Trust, Sort code 60 83 01 A/C Number 20275789
