Support the University and Further Education college strikes

Staff at 61 universities are set to strike. Workers are fighting plans to change their USS defined benefit pension scheme to a defined contribution one.
It would mean no guaranteed income in retirement and will slash the value of workers’ pensions by half or more.

A list of universities is available here

In the Further Education colleges there are set to be strikes over pay, following a one percent pay offer from the employers-a real terms pay cut.

Most of the universities are set to strike for 14 days. These are: Thursday 22 and Friday 23 February; Monday 26-Wednesday 28 February; Monday 5-Thursday 8 March; Monday 12-Friday 16 March. Check ucu.org.uk for more info.

A list of the FE colleges affected is available here

The further education colleges are set to strike on the 28th February and the 1st March followed by a second phase of 3 days of action within the following 28 days if management fail to make significant moves.
