Picturehouse Central, Ritzy, Hackney and Crouch End cinema staff to strike together Saturday 3 June

31 May 2017

PICTUREHOUSE BECTU MEMBERS ARE GOING ON A TWO-DAY STRIKE!

PICTUREHOUSE CENTRAL WILL BE HOSTING SUNDANCE FILM FESTIVAL 1-4 JUNE.

So join our Picturehouse Central staff outside the cinema and show your support from 4pm on Saturday 3rd June where we will be joined by workers from Hackney, Ritzy, and Crouch End from 7pm for a demo. Picketing will continue the following day from 2pm outside Central cinema!

Picturehouse management have refused to pay us Living Wage, they have refused to recognise our chosen trade union, and they have refused to grant adequate sick pay, maternity and paternity pay. And what’s more, they have refused even to meet with us to discuss these matters.

Cineworld made £93 million profit in 2016, while the CEO’s total pay package was worth over £2.5 million. They can afford to pay their staff properly. Regrettably, we have been left with no option but to withdraw our labour.

After renewal of ballots, all six cinemas have voted to strike for these demands. The movement is growing but the company is determined to keep cinemas open during strikes.

GATHER YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY AND JOIN US SATURDAY THE 3RD AND SHOW YOUR SUPPORT!! :)
