22 March 2017
Contrary to what you may have heard, County Durham Teaching Assistants are still locked in a dispute with Durham County Council over proposals to slash their pay by 23%.
Following over 12 months of fierce campaigning, notices to 2700 staff were suspended in December 2016, but they have NOT yet been withdrawn, despite continued negotiations.
On Saturday 25th March County Durham Teaching Assistants intend to stage a national day of solidarity to thank supporters and to ensure that the wider public are aware that they are still #FightingOn against these crippling pay cuts.
This is a call out to all trade unionists, campaign supporters and workers in struggle to join Durham TAs on a solidarity march through Durham city centre, followed by a mass rally at the iconic Miners’ Hall at Redhills
