Defend our NHS – Support Junior doctors – National demo now

Juniors doctors are set to strike for five days from Wednesday 5 October and with further strikes planned for November and December. These strikes are against the imposition by Tory health secretary Jeremy Hunt of dangerous new contracts.

The NHS faces massive cuts and the attempt to impose the 24/7 NHS is all about slashing terms and conditions for workers and degrading the service for patients to dangerous levels.

Junior doctors and the BMA have been slurred and attacked by the Tories and much of the media. We offer our 100 percent support to junior doctors and pledge to mobilise for BMA picket lines and protests in our area.

We support the calls raised by Mark Serwotka and Dave Ward for a day of action and national demonstration in support of the junior doctors and our NHS.

We call on the TUC General Council and the Labour Party to organise such a demonstration as a matter of urgency.

If motion is passed please forward to: Frances O’Grady at info@tuc.org.uk Jeremy Corbyn at corbynj@parliament.uk and let us know at Unite the Resistance at info@uniteresist.org
