FBU escalate pensions fight

Firefighters in the FBU union have now escalated their dispute, against attacks on their pensions by calling a 96-hour strike from 6pm on Friday 31 October.

Lambeth College update

Lambeth College UCU have overwhelmingly rejected the latest offer by management in the ongoing dispute over new contracts. The result of the e-ballot consultation was 92.3 percent to reject the offer, on a 54percent turnout‎.



St Mungo’s Broadway strike report

More than 500 Unite members who work for St Mungo’s Broadway returned to work on Friday following a fantastic seven day strike that shook the St Mungo’s Broadway bosses.

19 different picket lines, protests which targeted eight local authorities and two big lively protests outside St Mungo’s Broadway head offices at Griffin House in Hammersmith.



Response from Ritzy workers after announcement of job cuts

We are utterly dismayed and saddened by the brutality which was thrown at us yesterday by Picturehouse Cinemas.

In what can only be described as a cynical attempt to ‘improve customer service’, they plan to axe the positions of 2 managers, ALL 8 supervisors, 3 technical staff, numerous Front Of House and numerous Bar staff.



New website launched to build vote against local government pay proposal

Following a meeting of over 70 local government activists after last Saturday’s TUC protest in London, a website has been launched for branches and activists to share information on the campaign to reject the rotten LG NJC pay proposals.
