Unite the Resistance Birmingham Meeting: Wed 2nd July

Britain needs a pay rise – Build the Action to Win

Wednesday 2nd July, 7pm, birmingham UtR pay meeting

Priory Rooms, Bull Street, Birmingham

Dave Pitt, FBU brigade secretary

Doug Morgan, Birmingham NUT assistant branch secretary

Plus speaker invited from PCS, UNISON and UNITE

The potential pay strike of 1.5 million public sector workers is an important step forward for the trade union movement in Britain. We have now endured at least 5 years of pay freezes and under inflation pay cuts. The TUC estimates that British workers have seen their pay fall by 4.5%

Unite the Resistance welcomes the prospect of a coordinated pay strike by a number of unions on 10th July. We believe that this should be the beginning of a pay revolt and that further coordinated and escalating actions should be called to win the pay rise we all deserve.
