Up to 100 RMT London Underground workers and activists and supporters gathered at Monument to make their way to the Magistrates Court near Bank in London this morning to demand justice for Hammersmith and City RMT branch secretary Mark Harding at his court hearing, after he was arrested off a picket line during the first London Underground strike of 2014.
After his hearing today, a further court date has been set for Monday 2 June.
The attack on Mark for defending a picket line is an attack on the union. At a time when Boris Johnson, the Tories and the bosses are desperate to strike a blow to the RMT, a fighting union that has stood up to the attacks on jobs, conditions, and the transport service. So the fight to defend Mark is one for us all to get behind–it is the same struggle.
