No £1000 pay cut: Back Wigan strikers

14 May 2014

On Thursday 15 May hundreds of Unison members in Wigan will walk out on strike. The workers face what amounts to a £1000 a year pay cut because of the Labour councils attack on their essential car users allowance.

Added to years of pay freeze and pay cuts many workers are saying that enough is enough. For the last two weeks workers have boycotted the use of their own cars for work but now they are upping the ante in the fight and there could be more to come.
