Glasgow care workers plan further strikes

17 February 2014

Glasgow residential workers ended their 72 hour stoppage on Monday, this follows two previous 48 hour strikes after voting on Sunday to further escalate their dispute.

The striker’s confidence is increasing as more night shift workers joined the strike at the weekend. Senior stewards report that progress has been made in negotiations with the council but not enough to call off action.

The residential workers plan a series of three 72 hour stoppages in March.

Messages of support and donations to the strike hardship fund are coming in from all over Britain.
