Glasgow residential care workers have voted to escalate their
industrial action in their dispute over the council’s plans to impose
new job roles, longer shift patterns and a £1,495 a year pay cut.
UNISON has announced that a 72 hour strike will start from 8am on Friday 14 February. Donations to the strike fund are now more important than ever. See below for details.
Last week’s solid 48-hour strike ended on Tuesday following an angry lobby of
the council chambers and a mass meeting.
The residential workers have received messages of support from all over
Britain and the local health UNISON branch has donated £10,000.
