Glasgow residential care workers have voted to escalate their
industrial action in their dispute over the council’s plans to impose
new job roles, longer shift patterns and a £1,495 a year pay cut.
UNISON is expected to announce this week the dates for a 72-hour stoppage.
This week’s solid 48-hour stoppage ended on Tuesday following an angry lobby of
the council chambers and a mass meeting.
The residential workers have received messages of support from all over
Britain and the local health UNISON branch has donated £10,000.
