Support Glasgow Homeless Casework Team unofficial strike

16 September 2013

On Friday 13 September social workers in the Glasgow Homeless Casework Team, who are members of Unison, walked out on unofficial strike following the suspension of a colleague who refused to cover the work of vacant posts.

Today, Monday 16 September, the strike has escalated across the whole service following a union meeting of 60 people, after talks with management over workload failed to resolve the issues.

Unite the Resistance has produced a collection sheet to raise solidarity with the strike.

Rush messages of support to enquiries@glasgowcityunison.co.uk

In solidarity with the social work team in the homelessness department, whose work is so important. The extra workload will only be to the detriment of the people they care for, support for these workers should be provided, not a mass of work, to ensure the quality of service.
