Boycott Hovis, national day of action Saturday 28 September

16 September 2013

The strike at Hovis in Wigan is an inspiration to workers across the country. Having forced management to back down over the use of zero hours contracts they are now fighting to stop bosses using agency labour.

The Hovis strikers deserve our full support. Unite the Resistance has called a day of action on Saturday 28 September. On that day we are asking for people around the country to campaign for a boycott of Hovis products.

Protests could be organised outside supermarkets on the day or alternatively you could hold a campaign stall in your town centre.

Email details of your local protests/ activities to: and we will advertise them on our website.

We have designed two posters for you to use on campaign stall and protests – they also make good window posters.
