4 June 2013
Members of the NUT and NASUWT in John Gulson Primary School in Coventry today began a 48 hour walkout over excessive lesson observations and oppressive school management.
Following a strong showing at their first day’s action on 21st May, members have escalated to a two day strike aimed at bringing management to the table with a three day walkout planned next week from the 11th to the 13th June.
Striking teachers from the school were supported on the picket lines by teachers from local schools and union representatives from across the midlands. With over 30 on the picket line the atmosphere was fantastic and all of the support on the day and the messages of solidarity were greatly appreciated.
