Teachers at John Gulson School in Coventry have today taken their sixth day of strike action, with four more called over the next week.
Members of the NUT and NASUWT are taking action over oppressive management, excessive observations and a pernicious appraisal system. All of the pickets have been very well supported, and a demonstration held at Coventry Council House last Wednesday resulted in 15 protesters entering the L.A. Education Select Committee hearing.
Further strikes have been called for the 19th, 25th, 26th and 27th with more to follow should management continue to refuse to negotiate.
A rally is being held from 9.00am on Tuesday 25th June at the Muslim Resource Centre, Red Lane, Foleshill, Coventry. CV6 5EE. Speakers will include Kevin Courtney, NUT DGS.
Picket lines are held from 7.30 to 9.00am on strike days. Support on those days would be very welcome.
