25 June 2013
Over 1,000 angry teachers marched on Tues 25th june after school, from Victoria past Michael Gove’s office and on to a rally at the Emmanuel centre.
Wearing green t-shirts with the message ‘Stand up for Education’ and chanting ‘Gove must go’ as they passed the DFE, teachers gave a clear message that they would not accept Gove’s plans for education.
Teachers are angry about the increasingly prescriptive curriculum, the harsh inspection regime, forced academisation as well as the plan to introduce performance related pay.
The march and rally sent solidarity greetings to NUT and NASUWT teachers set to strike tomorrow 27th June in the North West.
