Over 2,500 workers, members of Unison, in the Mid Yorks Health trust have now voted by 75 percent to strike together over an attack on the lowest paid workers which will mean pay cuts of up to £2,700.
Over 250 workers across three hospitals, Dewsbury, Pontefract and Wakefield Pinderfields, have so far been on strike for a total of nine days, four days before Christmas and for five days at the end of January.
The yes vote in the ballot of the whole branch represents a serious escalation of the dispute.
