Brick Kiln Workers Go All out to Turn Heat Up

9 April 2013

Kiln burners at Hansons Brick near Peterborough have downed tools and called 6 hanson kiln workersweeks of indefinite action in a determined bid to defend there conditions.  The dispute is over the imposition of new contracts.  Managers are currently running the Kilns, which is a  24/7 job,  but they are not skilled and are few in numbers. Brick production is likely to be effected in a week or so as the finished product comes out the other end.  The strike is being well supported by other workers at the site but solidarity visits and donations from the wider union movement are needed.

Please send messages of support to the senior steward Stan Dow at stanley.dow@ntlworld.com or to 41 Inhams Road, Whittlesey, Peterborough PE7 1TT.

Cheques, made payable to ‘UNITE THE UNION 8/10/738 Branch’ should also be sent to this address.
