14 April 2013
Yesterday nearly 1000 people marched in Tottenham against benefit cuts and the bedroom tax. 1,000 Mothers March
The march was led by women chanting ‘when kids go hungry, we get angry!’ but represented the diversity of the Tottenham community: women, men, Turkish, Kurdish, black and white united in a noisy protest to demand ‘No tax cuts for the rich, no benefit cuts for the poor!’.
March organisers stressed the need not just to get angry, but to get organised, and launched a Tottenham Benefit Justice Campaign which is meeting on Monday 22 April, 7pm at the North London Community House, 22 Moorefield Road N17.
