Unite the Resistance steering committee elections

UPDATED on 9 Nov with new nominations deadline – 5pm, Thursday 15 November

Unite the Resistance will elect a new steering committee at our conference on 17 November.

The committee will meet four times a year in London and will aim to help coordinate the resistance to the Tories’ austerity measures as well as being responsible for organising Unite the Resistance’s national and regional events.

Steering committee members will be elected by a ballot at our conference. Every paid-up delegate attending our conference will be given a ballot paper on arrival and will be able to vote for their preferred candidates for the steering committee.

If you would like to stand as a UtR committee member, please email us with the following information:

1) Name
2) Union / organisation
3) Fifty words on why you are standing

The nominations deadline is 5pm, Thursday 15 November.

You will receive acknowledgement of your nomination by 5pm on Friday 16 November.

    The pensions strike, then sell-out proved workers want to fight but union leaders, left and right, are unwilling to unite. Only pressure from below can force them to call a general strike or strike for more than a day. Fight – with the union leaders where possible, without them where necessary!
