11 January 2012
We would like to invite you to the first open organising meeting of Unite the Resistance Greater Manchester on Tuesday 17th January, at 7pm, in Friends Meeting House, Manchester.
Delegates from trade union branches and campaigning groups from Manchester attended the conference and we are now looking to set up Unite the Resistance Greater Manchester. Mark Serwotka, General Secretary of the PCS union, is already booked in to speak at our launch event in Manchester on 29th February 2012.
On 17th January we are holding the first organising meeting for Unite the Resistance Greater Manchester. We want Unite the Resistance to be an open, democratic organisation, ran by trade union activists from different unions – public and private sector – and activists from anti-cuts campaigns. We would therefore like to invite you to come along to the organising meeting to discuss the next steps for us in Manchester.
The 30 November strikes showed we have the power to force the government back – let’s use it to win a decent deal on pensions.
Come to the meetings and London conference to organise the New Year fightback.
We have also enclosed a motion for passing through your trade union branch/ organisation.
If you have any questions or would like to speak to someone about Unite the Resistance Greater Manchester please get in touch with us at email@example.com . We look forward to hearing from you, and hope to see you at the organising meeting on 17th January.
